Corbett National Park (138 km from Haldwani)
Corbett national park is situated in Nainital district. This park was the first to come under the Project Tiger initiative. Corbett has been a haunt for tourists and wildlife lovers for a long time. Tourism activity is only allowed in selected areas of Corbett Tiger Reserve so that people get an opportunity to see its splendid landscape and the diverse wildlife. Dense, moist deciduous forest mainly consists of Sal, Haldu, Peepal, Rohini and mango trees. Forest covers almost 73% of the park, 10% of the area consists of grasslands. It houses around 110 tree species, 50 species of mammals, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species.

It is situated at an altitude of 1370 meters above sea level. The major attraction in Bhimtal is the Bhimtal Lake, which has an island at its centre.

Naukuchiatal: (33 km from Haldwani)
Naukuchiatal or “Lake of nine corners” is a small hill station in Nainital district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The lake is 175 feet deep and is situated at 1220 Mts above sea level. It is surrounded by hills covered in trees and shrubs. It is the deepest of all the lakes in the Nainital region. A picnic to this beautiful place also offers one with the tempting challenges like paragliding, fishing, rowing, paddling or yachting.
